The story of Petruskajak
Our family business was born through a genuine interest in the outdoors. The forest and the water have always had great importance for man, so also for us. We have always lived with nature in mind. Scouting has also been a big part of our lives. Learning to live in nature without destroying it is important to us.
Boat life has long fascinated us. At first it was big boats that mattered. Then we discovered the advantages of small boats. As Canadians, we have paddled a lot in scouting contexts. At the beginning of the 2000s, we tried kayaking and we were hooked. We started building our own kayaks and it grew and became a course activity.
Now we want to share all the wonderful paddling experiences in Lake Sommen. Our rental center has become a reality. Now you can rent canoes of many different types – wooden, plastic, fiberglass, K2s and Canadians. But we also have stern spinner boats – Monark 44 and sailboats for those who like to sail – My Helmsman.
We want to make it possible for others to experience nature as paddlers, fishermen or sailors, get close to nature quietly and carefully, get exercise and get new energy in the fresh air. Paddled in the right way, the kayak provides exercise for the whole body and peace and recovery for the soul.
Course activities are in autumn, winter and spring. We want to provide the opportunity for an active holiday week where you get to work with your hands, live as if in a bubble in our workshop where the hustle and bustle of everyday life, stress and everything else doesn’t reach you! We make sure you have what you need for the construction and that you get food and sleep. Someone has called our courses craft retreats 😉
Welcome to Petruskajak!
